Best place to dig out such info that I know of is:

I think the 1968 VIN is not mounted same place  as the 1969.  I think is on the passenger side front spring pocket cover under the hood and not on drivers side corner of the dash as with '69 and later..

The 1968 service manual did not include the AMX and they issued a supplement.  You can use the 1969 manual but can look a the 1968 VIN specs for all other models (for example the Javelin).  Tthis is is Adobe pdf format and you can read it online or download it, also.

The accessory and cost info may be available from Tony Zamisch or perhaps someone else on the list may have this kind of info.  It may be on a brochure or something.  When I bought my 1969 Javelin in 1969 the dealer gave me a copy of his old car ordering and price guide  for the Javelin.   I would think they would have a similar guide for the 1968 AMX.  It showed the Factory Installed Regular Production Options.
