Well no offense to those who are Pacer lovers but to me they are butt ugly and a real low point for AMC engineering.  

Nearly every one of them with power steering had a leaky rack and pinion and they were alarmingly under powered from the factory.  It wasn't until the movie Dumb and Dumber that Pacers came into favor as the quintisential quirky car from AMC.  Prior to that movie, Pacers were a dime a dozen and mostly undesired by the automotive public.

I am a 35 year plus AMC owner/enthusiast but the one AMC that will never occupy a place in my garage is the Pacer!
