Comment, The Javelin is basically an American platform put into a taffy puller and tweaked a little, then they tossed a new wrapper on it!
   Flame on ! :]
Seriously, All the car companys practiced this to keep costs down. You buit a platform then tweak it depending on your needs. 
   How many yeasr did they use the Hornet platform, tweaked to become, Gremlin, Concord, Eagle, Spirit, SX4, Kammback etc;
