Off-topic boring travel crap, hit delete if you don't want to read it..
I'm home now. finally...
The last two days were very long. 
Thursday.
Hawaiin air lost 3 out of 7 bags flying from Honlulu to Maui to start the home trip.
We had to fill out a lost claim in Maui. That almost made us miss the first leg of the trip home from Maui. Well, not really as we found out. The storms in Chicago made the incoming flight late. They tried to clean the jet and load us at the same time after a delay. we finally got out of Maui an hour late. The plane did a stop in Kona that we were supposed to be allowed to stay on the plane during, but since they had not got the plane completely loaded they made us deplane. We stood out in the open air "clean, gate" area for over an hour, Kona, Hawaii, Lava surrounding blactop + 90* = HOT... Then they loaded us back on the jet. It was still being cleaned! We had to stand in the aisles while they finished! We finally got on the way to Chicago only 15 minutes late overall.
  The flight went thru the east bound timewarp, all those hours we gained fyling west were taken back!
The pilot told us just before landing about all the storm problems Chicago had endured on Thursday! Till then we did not know what had caused the delay. The stewardess was rude to the point of being nasty to my son and I one the flight to top it off. 
    The final leg of the flight to Pittsburgh was packed too. so packed that all the bags did not fit. We arrived at Pittsburgh to desscover that not only had we lost 3 bags in Maui we were now short another bag! 
  We had been told American Air would have our lost 3 from Maui in Pittsburgh when we got there. Well, not true.
Now down 4 out of 7 bags we were not happy! and tired...
  Long story short. American air said the 3 bags would be in at 1:05 and it was 10:00 am. United said the 1 they lost would be on the next flight and it was only 30 miutes till it came in at that point, we thought. We waited to get the one. by the time it actually got ikn and unloaded it was 12:35! We now were short only the 3 original bags, but since we were now so close to the 1:05 promised delivery on them we waited. While I waited I walked around the baggage area only to disscover that those missing bags were now there! They had come in thru Dallas not Chcago. Those 3 bags had travelled from Honolulu-Maui-Honolulu-Dallas-Pittsburgh! At least we got them as they had my Tiki to go in my office along with my Gargoyles! Plus my two t-shirts.
