Does the key go all the way around? If not, turn towards the normal position 
for opening and slap the top of the trunk with your hand. I've had to do 
that, even with my '82 Spirit (currently back on the road in fairly stock 
form until my Jeep is back in running order with the auto swapped in or the 
right rear wheel bearing gives up)
