[Amc-list] Mandatory Smog Testing.

It always pleases me to drive home from the smog test station with
everything passing.
Today it was my 1980 Spirit's turn. This car uses an Iskenderian 256
Supercam, a smidgon more than 9.0:1 compression achieved by milling the
head and decking the block and the MOPAR MPFI retrofit kit complete with
California CARB exemption paper work, making it a smog legal
configuration. All this installed on a 1975 vintage 258 pulled out of a
Pacer which was rebuilt and the previous mentioned items installed.

The readings were as follows.

Hydrocarbons (HC) in PPM, Loaded reading, 39, Loaded Standard 220.
Carbon Monoxide (C0) in %, Loaded reading 0.26, Loaded Standard 1.20

Hydrocarbons (HC) in PPM, Idle reading 23, Idle Standard 220
Carbon Monoxide (CO) in %, Idle reading 0.00, Idle Standard 1.20

One of my goals when I built this car was to make it a freeway flier
while keeping it under the radar in the smog criteria with out having to
fuss with the thing to get it to pass smog. This goal was achieved.
Preparation for this smog test was to remove the car cover and check to
see that the car would start. Then I replaced the leaky fuel line before
the car caught on fire and then drove it to the station.

Happiness is-------------------!
