I would say if you intend to keep those windows working the motors should come out and be serviced if possible.
The ones I have seen from that era typically have grease that has turned to globs that don't do anything at all.
The brushes are usually not making good contact with the armature and it just leaves the whole thing running on a hope and a prayer.
