" My AMC 15 is 3:31 geared twingrip hooking up with 255/60/15's and it has prooved itself to be quite capable of withstanding the occasional HARD launch. I would retorque the axle nuts to 250 ft lb and not get too concerned with swapping it out right away. " My 4.0L T-5 doubtlessly puts out as mush power as the small V-8 and with 14" tires your likely to just smoke them anyway. " I do have the intention of swapping it out. Someday, maybe, I have another 3:31 geared amc15 for emergancy use if I do break it too! " " Do you remember the width of that Versaille axle you put in the 65? " I'm thinking I may swap it into my 69 while I build the 65?! Maybe not?! With 3:25 gears it would make the high OD in the close ratio T5 almost useless, not the T5 you installed Brian is keeping it. I would prefer to run 3:50-3:55's in the 69. not offhand, but it's a little wide for an american; it'd go better under a hornet or gremlin or early amx/javelin. i -think- its a 57" track.
