It's hardly boring and will run like Jack the Bear with the right parts. As I said earlier, I'll drive my Gremlin with AMC power as long as it will run, but if the engine dies and I can't find an AMC V-8 I'm sure not going to just park it or junk it. The replacement will be an engine that will put out lots of horsepower and won't cost an arm and a leg to buy and install. The 350 fits the bill, I've worked on and rebuilt a number of Chevy engines in the last 45 years, so I can maintain it myself. I had a 1961 'Vette with a 315 HP FI engine and close ratio four-speed. That's what I really need for the Gremlin. Well lets throw you a Rip Taylor style ticker tap parade why don't we.and once again you fail miserably at what we all have told you.WTF 350 besides what came in 60's & early 70's GM cars have high H.P? and what you want as far as performance WILL cost you an arm and a leg. unless you sell crack or steal the parts.and it would be the Chevy crew that would string you up and hang your ass if you dropped a Fuelie small block from a 61 Vette in a 'Gremlin'.And if your engne died and you cannot find an AMC motor, look for something besides a chevy 350 because i don't give a crap if you think its not boring whereas 99.9% out there DO,use another makes engine for christ's sake.DARE TO BE DIFFERENT! ok Mr. Lemming!
