[Amc-list] gas mileage

I guess I was lucky or something.  My 71 Javelin 304 orginal 2bbl; first
AMC I ever bought when I was 18 in 1978; still got it by the way; I used
to run 2 or  3 size smaller jets than stock, it actually made it a
little faster throttle response off the line and on 2 trips from Ohio to
Missouri it got consistant 22.5 to 24.5 mpg.  Bad thing about that was;
anytime I got less than that on future cars; especially non AMC, it was
always a disappointment...and to this day I still wonder why it did so
well.
