Where do you folks usually go if you need an alternator? Mine is on it's last
leg and here's what i've found so far:

rockauto = $43
oreilly - $38 (+$10 core)
advance auto - $58
auto zone - $34 (+$15 core)

I prefer AutoZone and go no where else! I am lucky to have ONE in town that all are great knowledgeble people. Plus when you get the AutoZone something or other card and log all your purchases, for every $100 you spend you get a $20 gift card, and that really pays off.

PLUS when I went to Dayton AMO Nationals, and most know the story of the 75 Matador Wagon dying in Bowling Green and stranding me there, the first place I went to was AutoZone. Seems that the Motorola in the Mat was not quite normal. They searched and compared everything and had nothing available for a couple days. They even took me over to the neighboring Auto something that I cannot really remember the name but they are always close by and look like AutoZone. So they took me to the compeators to see if they had anything. Suggested a local motel for thi night and wouked wil me the next day.

New battery also after finding a local junk yard/parts place w/the altenator. I had problems afterwards and another altenator at AMO Nationals, then the battery died and I took it to the local one and instead of waiting for 1 1/2 hours for a battery charge (as there were 2 a head of me) the replaced the battery and sent me on my way.

SOOO, AutoZone for me. I also find their pricing less than most others and that customer service for me has been great!

Good Luck.

I still have 2 motorola altenators in the garage. One from the parts place which I paid $45 for and the one from Kennedy, in the box (rough) NOS I paid $95 for. We switched back to a Delco and when I got home I took them to the electrical shop and both alternators are worlking fine. Putting out 60 65 amps. Make me an offer plues the shipping. Go figure.
