I agree, If I didn't have a setof 82-3 disc on the car and another set of spindles, caliper brackets on the shelf, plus a one off custome set of brackets for usiing WJ rotors [yeah I know they need redrilled to 4.5"]. A set of calpiers and pads for 82-83 and other misc all waiting in backup, I'd be interested in trying this setup out tosee what it actually does. 
   I think the total track change is the big thing. With bearing spacers, I'd guess it isindeed to move the rotor out for clearance or to allow for tighting th ebearings to the proper preload? As far as running the shim. I don't see a majpr problem with doing so, depending on exactly how it is made and what itis made from. I woder if it could in fact be for the seal to ride on?
  Like I said, the set looks fairly well made. I'd give it a try, parts are Jeep at Rockauto for the suggested pieces,. I don't have a need. 
  Someone buy a set and see what they are like!
