[Amc-list] Interesting Tidbits

I was looking through a volume of AMC Service
bulletins last night in search of a bulletin for a guy
on the AMC Forums. I found a number of interesting
tidbits. Among them:

In 1977, AMC actually used some Mopar torque
convertors on their torque-command transmissions.
These torque convertors had the Mopar ring gear welded
to the torque convertor, so there were two ring gears
on these cars. The service bulletin said to ignore
the Mopar ring gear as it would interfere with the
starter drive.

The big back window in the 77 Gremlin was actually a
running change and supposedly there were some 1976
Gremlins built late in the model year with the big
back window. The back window, at first, did not have
a metal bezel surrounding it, but one was added later
in the model year.

The Hornet AMX (1977) came out during the model year
and a service bulletin announced the features on the
car. Of note, is that all AMXs were shipped without
the front spoiler installed (must have been
susceptible to damage in shipping) and had to be
installed by the dealer.
