it wouldn't be the worst thing that ever happened...

crazy engine swap?  if you could get ahold of an iron warner tt
adapter, how about a v12 and warner m12 from a '77 jag xj?  wouldn't
even have to ditch the drivetrain...

i'm also thinking - if you [or anyone with a 287/327] wanted to swap a
th400 auto in, you'd still need the '65-8 jeep 327 adapters, but a jag
th400 also has the nailhead case and unlike the jeep should be
machined for speedo drive.  [iirc jeeps took speedo off the t/c]
