bolt pattern is 4 1/2" on '73-6 disk brake cars
all others are 4" [0]
oddity - up through the late '70s, mopar still used lh thd on one side
of their cars, though it's still 1/2"-20 like everyone but gm.

ring gears were:
7.25", all years
8.75", 383 late '60s - early '70s, still 4"
8.25", 318 '73-6

no rear disks stock, plenty aftermkt kits.  rare '70s imperial rear
disks would fit.

ratios like 2.76, 2.93 and 3.23 were common; 3.55 and 3.91 have long
been optional.  thanks to jeep usage you can now get 3.73s and many
posis for the 8.25".  original was an eaton type iirc.

8.25" axles originally had 27 spline halfshafts, but also thanks to
jeep, late ['96-up iirc] axles have 29 splines.  to update an older
axle you'd need custom halfshafts, but the chucks are a straight swap.
something to keep in mind if you're already shelling out for an
aftermkt posi.

the 8.75s are very tough but naturally in high demand amongst the
mopar muscle crowd.

[0] rambler front drums/hubs used to be the hot setup for early dart
hotrodders; they're exactly the same except for bolt circle.  one
could convert a rambler to 4" b.c. with dart front drums and rear end.
