I'm not 100% sure on a 63, but later models 60's Ramblers you can get a clean non resistor 12 volt lead at the voltage regulater. It beats rewiring to get around the resistor wire.
It's a yellow wire on 69's. I went thru the hassle of going clear to the switch in the dash to install a fresh one piece wire to run mine when installing an electronic ignition only to find the second wire in place and joined to the same lug on the starter switch!
