[Amc-list] foot warrior please!

anyone in phoenix willing to be my feet on the ground? i've found this
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=218176155 and it -looks-
like just about what i want. 2dr 2wd 5sp cherokees are thin on the
ground, especially option-free... two questions i need answered first
though:
is he willing to see reason on price? he's -way- over bluebook.
what shape is it really in? what's in the pic looks good, but...
bonus pts: early '88 w/peugeot tranny or late '88 with ax15? the 'new
tranny' makes me think peugeot.

from my distance i'm in a poor position to negotiate. otoh, no a/c in
phoenix sounds like the kiss of death. [up around here, the days a
year you need a/c can usually be counted on the fingers of one hand]

[amc content: this jeep is an amc design with an amc engine, rear end,
and brakes]

vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The
vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety
inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and

into this category.

     Good	$788
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects.
This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and interior
have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical

match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need
some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles
fall into this category.

     Fair	$613
"Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or
cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable
running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint,
body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires
may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.
