I couldn't believe it at first either! It was just after my camera phone 
died on me or I would've taken a pic. The ring still had the starter 
attached to it and the trans was absolutely BOP! As for not using a BOP 
trans with the earlier Buick motors, it didn't make sense to run a different 
4x4 trans and GM was using those 2wd ones in their cars.

sure that's the way it went?  they used an adapter ring '69-'71
between the buick 350 and the amc th400, knocked me out first
time i
saw one -- why didn't they just use a bop th400?
