I had at one time a 4.0L head that I sat on a 69 232 block. This head and block combo covered the triangular holes in that particular head only. I traded of that head with someother stuff not realizing at the time that it was different from the other heads I had. When I compared on of the other heads it's triangular holes was exposed! After careful examination I came to realize that core shift on that one particular head allowed it to have it's holes covered. Just my rotten luck to have gotten rid of it too!
  At the time I was planningo n installing a 4,0L head on a 69 232. I had everything worked out, then I came up with a 82 T-4 four speed trans and a 4.0L shortblock. I scrapped the head swap and the rest is history!
