In my experience with junkyard motors, unless you are committed to getting it installed an running asap, you will not get anything from the warranty. They usually hold to 30 days tops, no coverage for replacement time if it's bad. The prices sound fair for a yard pulled engine. Since this place is linked thru a friend you may to well to have him make the deal for you. Tell them up front exactly what you intend to do with this engine as alot of places won't warranty anything unless it goes into a vehicle it was designed for. I know that sucks when it comes to engines, but that's the way it is! I got burned over this years back,as I bought a 315 windsor to put in a 81 Tbird, when the engine turned out to be junk after I got two of them! The yard owner accused me of screwing them up since they weren't a factory engine in a factory body! You may far and away be better off to go for a rebuilder, since they will expect you to tear it down anyway, if it is bad you get another, good, you can put a ring kit in it and new oil pump, cam and other wear items. You'll have a few more bucks in it, but you'll know what you have! -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> > Those engine prices sound like they are in the ball > park.
