Dan,
If the light came on after a hard application of brake, it's probably the brake system warning light, and you can usually reset the switch by bleeding either the front or rear brakes. If it comes on again after the reset, and there are no obvious leaks, I would check the master cylinder again.

The switch under the dash on the brake pedal only sets when the brake lights come on at the back of the car.

Thanks Don,
I'll get out the TSM and check it out.  It came on after I had to hit the 
brakes hard and hasn't gone off.  The brakes feel and work fine, just have 
the light on.  Thanks for straightening me out.
