I checked the TSM for the 66, 67,and 68 for American rear brakes. On the drum brake set up a Bendix Duo-Servo Type Brake was used for both 9 inch and 10 inch brakes. For Disk brakes, the Bendix Non-Servo for 10 inch rear brakes was used. This is the back brake set where parts are hard to find. When I converted my 67 American for disk brakes, I kept the Bendix Duo-Servo type brake. Since the drum brake setup did not have a proportioning valve, I used the brake line setup and proportioning valve setup from a 73 Hornet and mounted the proportioning valve in the same place as it was mounted in the Hornet. The 66, 67 and 68 American lists a 29/32 inch wheel cylinder. I replaced it with a 7/8 inch wheel cylinder. In 69, AMC went to the Bendix Duo-Servo Type Brake for both drum and disk brake setups. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
