This is my reasoning entirely. Florida = no hills, so I just don't think
it's that big a deal; if it is, I'll change it or find a steeper used rear
end.

The T14 is actually in my wagon right now being used. That's a '67 232 car
with "I believe" a 3.15 rear, but a heavier car (Rebel Wagon).

I don't think the American should have much trouble for what I want out of
it.

Hi, RTFM and checked posts, trying to verify location of water temp
sending unit on 1960 i6 196 motor. I see three possible spots, most
likely back driver's side near firewall, but there's also something
passenger side by thermostat and same side halfway back. Unable to
find diagrams in manual labeling these.

   Thanks!

I think what you s/b after is 3M General Trim Adhesive Clear - Part # 051135
08088.

Or 3M Super Trim Adhesive part# 051135 08090... possibly...

And there is another 3M product for foam backed headliner I think in part
(051135) 08074.

They may have something else for gluing the fabric back onto the foam
backing if it has pulled loose from the foam. I was looking for that stuff
once but then decided that foam backing was too crumbly and was
disintegrating as I handled it so I just scraped it off the backer board and
replaced it with new stuff.

I would look these products over and decide which of them that you need for
just what you have to do and buy the best suited. It should be the right
stuff for this kind of job.

A to whether or not ordinary contact cement would work for this, I don't
know. Seems like I tried some stuff out that kind of melted the plastic &
didn't seem to work right. But that was some of the new foam backed
material for a headliner for my old Suburban. I got the right 3M stuff at
the fabric store where I got the headliner material. That might have the
part # 08074 stuff.

I think a good automotive parts store or else a fabric shop would have this
stuff. It is for automotive application.

This is one of the dumber scammers on ebay. Every auction you see above is a
'test' to see if they legitimately stole someone's user ID. So then they
take over someone's account, but appears they were unsure if they uh, did it
right, so let's put up test auction while we find some photos of a AMX off
epage, or collectorecartrader or another place to use! And of course you can
always Buy It Now for $4800. One of the scam auctions above is actually a
Challenger with a Buy It Now of $7800. I'm not into Mopars but what the hey,
might as go torpedo that auction!

Seems like you have tried everything but have you checked the bolt hole and bolt length? It could be bottoming out and not clamping the gasket. If everything is square and smooth that could be it.
