in some ways it's probably more comparable to the mopar a-block with
respect to general casting tech, and it shares at least one dimension
with the mopar b/rb - bore centers.  that's generaly fair though.

i was surprised myself, but on reflection - it grew out of the
aluminum 215, so i'll bet at 350 cubes it's pretty well stretched as
far as it can go, whereas they've made 455 cube sbc and similarly
big-inch small fords and mopars.  it's physically a small motor for a
350.
