This trans is a non-World Class T5.  It cannot be
modified for the high performance levels of the World
Class models, however, it is adequate for a 258 or
stock 304 to get better mileage and last longer due to
lower highway RPM's.  

One thing to help for longevity is to avoid putting a
lot of load on it when in 5th.  5th is only for
cruising.  Even if you're trying to push up a long
uphill grade it is better to downshift and let the
RPM's hum for awhile.
