Subject: [AMC-List] 82 Spirit tranny?

Hello All.I just looked at a 82 Spirit that was given to me.

I was just
going to strip it for the brakes, and sell off the rest.

She gave it to me cause someone supposedly put the clutch in
backwards.

Well after looking it over i find it has a 5 speed standard,YEE HA,i
think.What trans is this?

It says T-5,on the window sticker?

My friend wanted the clutch setup, and
tranny before, when we thought it was a 4 speed.Mabie i should keep it
if it's a 5 speed. Thanks for all your input,as too what it is.

If the car is in otherwise good shape - why rip it up unless for
some small cash ?

Fix the clutch, throw some wax on the car & enjoy > sell whole.

We've reached 'That Time' when the AMCs in the yards have been
crushed > ie < AMC in salvage yards are now a thing of the past.

Cars left in decent shape - repairable - should have every effort
to be left intact - there are shatboxes with rust to part out once
they quit running.

Your friend just missed an AX-15 for $50.00 off the NAXJ.ORG site.
I posted to the amc-list > doubt anyone bother'd.

Friend wants a 4x4 AX-15 ? > go to www.naxj.org < post a wanted -
won't take long or much .

I'd leave the car intact - straighten out the clutch or pass the car
to someone to restore > for some cash........... of course ! ;)

Sonofahbihtch Justin ! you saying this is a shake-down ?

No 'Faux' chrome stripped plastic rear bumper ends from France ?

Think this might be Taliban related ?

Does anyone know where I can get the Black upholstery cloth for a 65 Marlin? Or something similar? It appears to be polyester and has a rib pattern.

I'm trying to install an Edelbrock Performer intake on a 360. The car is
a 1977 Matador Coupe.

I've got the old intake and everything off, and the regular intake
gaskets are affixed to the heads. The problem I'm having is that I can't
get the valley pan to line up properly in between the gaskets and the
new manifold; it slides around every time I get the manifold on top of
the engine.

Is there some trick to this that I'm missing? Do I still need the valley
pan, even with the regular gaskets in place? Could someone who's done
this offer me a little guidance?

I got the seat insert material from SMS Auto Fabric's for my 74
Hornet. I chose not to have then add the pleats to the material as they
are made by using heat for that sewn look and that is where they all
split. I had the upholstery shop sew in the pleats and they look just
like the original factory parts of the interior.

Wanted NOS 1969 Javelin Big Bad front bumper. Rick Hoagland
barronhoag@xxxxxxx 503-968-5706
=================================
anyone with a NOS bumper give Rick a shout above, thanks.
***Note to Rick and others, you can easily have ANY front or rear bumper
denickled and dechromed by a bumper rechroming place. I have done several
thru the years for my own cars. Just ask them and when they straighten it,
have them leave it bare. Warning, you will have to also primer it after
picking it up so no surface rust forms quickly. But it is a better
alternative than trying to find a NOS 69 only Big Bad bumper when you can
use own as a core. You can also use your bumper stainless as a template as
to where to drill the holes in the lip also. I have done about 4 of these
thru the years really great looking and can't tell from original.

Bill there are several online price guides, some more comprehensive than
others. Here are two:
http://www.collectorcarmarket.com/menus/amyrd.htm

http://manheimgold.com/

and if not sure where the vehicle might be loacted, although you said
Montana, there is a neat site to look up area codes to find out where
located:
