Clones are getting more respect these days because it's getting so regular people can't afford the real thing anymore. Have you priced a Shelby Cobra kit car lately? The well done HemiCuda clones are starting to push 6 figures now because the real ones are off the chart. Clones are not bad. Mostly it's someone building the car they would like to have but can't afford. I have read Zazarine's comments on the matter. He's unabashedly against them because a really well done clone can be passed off as genuine, generally not by the creator, but by the second or third owner down the line. That seems to be his problem with clones. However honest the intentions of the creator, the car will eventually wind up in the hands of some scumbag who will try to pass it off as original. To me, that's like saying close all banks because eventually someone will try to rob it. So I say "send in the clones!" and enjoy your car because, after all, it is YOUR car, but don't ever try to pass it off as original unless it is.
