i don't have the official word wither, but as you say it makes no
sense - unless the '66 and '67 crossmembers were the same or
interchangeable at least.  i don't know how many 327s jeep bought;
they might've made a mass purchase in '65 and still be working through
the stockpile, but amc would've needed complete engines for several
years just for warrantee work, never mind parts, so i don't see any
point to ending gen1 usage before the end of '66 my production.
