Yes, the Eagle doors are a direct fit on the Sportabout body. Bolt 'em up, run some wiring, and you'll have power windows/locks!

And, I seem to remember recently looking this up in the 1980 AMC parts book: the window regulators are shown to be the same part number for 2-door and 4-door applications (front door only). The wiring harness has some extra wiring for the 4-door, but it shouldn't be too hard to modify it for use in a 2-door only application.

I pulled the heated rear window out of the Eagle
wagon, and you guessed right, the wires broke. Both
broken wires are braided. One wire is a ground so I
can contend with that OK. The other wire is the power
source, can I just soder a regular braided wire to
this stranded wire? There is a pull connector further
up the wire, so I figure it should be OK.
Will the doors fit onto my Hornet? I want to swap the
rusted doors on my 73 Hornet to these nice 85 Eagles
as I am getting them for next to nothing. Can these
power controls from the small doors be swapped over
onto the big doors when I switch over to a 2-dr wagon configuration......Russ

1976 Matador. 39,000 original documented miles. 4 doors. 258 six, automatic
trans, front disc brakes, power steering, rear sway bar, rear end should be
a 3:54 gear seeing it's a six in a big car, yellow with black interior.
Interior is flawless. Body has some rust along the bottom but is not real
bad. No rust holes, it appears to be surface rust. New exhaust, battery,
fuel pump. This is base Matador with no options on it. Rides like a dream,
starts right up and runs good. Should be able to fly in and drive it home if
need be. The original owner died and her twin sister and husband took the
car. The husband died soon after so it was not driven much. It was garage
kept. Current owner is 91. I believe it had 35,000 on it in 1988 according
to an old registration. Don't know what it's worth. Asking 1800. Joe
