There were some problems with the ignition that the original owners didn't remember, so they had it changed back to standard points-type, which it is using now. I figure both of these things have to do with End-of-year. Was the electronic ignition optional for '74? Also, no smog equipment but a vapor canister. No EGR even. > the two > middle holes sound like a t-18 pattern, combined > with the top two. > this confuses me a little, as i'd thought that the > t-18s used in > late-'70s cjs, the only ones with short inputs > afaik, had ford bolt > patterns, and that t-18s with the distinctive warner > pattern all had > long inputs... ------->The bell depth is 7", is that the short bell? I seem to recall my '69 390 Javelin bell from 20 years ago to be deeper. > 6-bolt top cover? main case ~8.7" long? sounds > like a t-14 to me. ------>Those features are just as stated. So where does that leave us with Garrett's question, or my eventual T-5 swap? That is DEFINITELY going to happen.
