Re: 67 American power steering conversion?

" I'm in the process of putting the front end together on my 67 Rogue
" and the manual steering seems to be worn out. I was wondering if
" anyone could help me by letting me know what I'd have to do to convert
" to a power steering setup? I know I'll have to get a PS pump, a
" steering box setup for power steering, hoses and belts, but what else
" will I need? Also, what makes and models of other AMC's can I take the
" box off to use?

you can use any gm ps box up to the late '70s at least, right off.
boxes after that have minor differences like hose threads, which can
be changed...

you'll also need a sill adapter. the american frame doesn't have
holes for the ps box. this is the way amc did it.

if you're feeling adventurous, a vega ps box should snug up to the
manual location without adapter.
