I worked on the Convertible Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon till 7:30. I've got the cowl finished where the heater box used to bolt up. Wow what a project. It took two attemps to get it fitted iwth one large piece of 18 gauge metal. It's now solid as a rock. No fresh air intake either, I plan on using a recirc aftermarket box from one of that A/C places although no A/C is planned. I'm really feeling overwhelmed at the scope of this project right now though. I finished the Upper cowl and figured to work dow the cowl corner to the floor board. Man I thought it would be simple to do that corner until I started trying to clean out the rot. Nothing structural is gone, but there are so many things going on in the lower section of this car with is being a convertible it's going to take some work to figure out how to patch it all in and make it solid and respectable. I got drustrated last night and quit. I feel mostly like dragging the hulk out of th egarage and moving on! UGh. I think I will get over it, But I'm not real sure right now. Anyone want it ? :] To top it off the tank on my air compressor has rusted out after 18 years, geez, they just don't build them like they used to! Now I'm trying to locate a horizontal compressor with high cfm and under $1,000. Not haveing a lot of luck yet, Haven't really started an earnest search as the compressor is still useable.
