Good post John! I agree with Jock too. It's okay to criticize on the list, but state the reason, not just an opinion. Why is the show crap? I agree that they made some serious errors, and the producer should know they aren't doing things in an acceptable manner, but acceptable by whom? I'm not the only one who's "hacked" something at one point or another, either temporarily or left permanent on a driver or car I just wanted to "fix up" and couldn't afford to do it right, or plain didn't know how (but knew what would work...). Sometimes the difference between a hack and a correct job is in the eye of the beholder -- especially in the hot rodding and racing world. Many things that became innovations were derided as hacks at first.<snip>
Cutting and welding stock parts to fit a stock car, especially in the frame/major support area, instead of straightening it properly is just wrong! That is unless it's being shortened, channeled, chopped, etc. .... ;>
