The Toyota proving grounds near Wittman is pretty much right in the way of the sleepy farm and horse town of Buckeye. Right now there's about 8-12,000 people there. Oh, I'm sorry, that was last week. Now it's about 35,000. There are currently 140,000-- read that again-- homes planned and being constructed RIGHT there. There are homes all over a former piece of GM's area in Mesa, and every other proving grounds is threatened by what's going on here. A year ago I lived on 10 acres in the country, with 9 Arabian horses. Then Phoenix decides they need it. The city line is 20 miles east of me. Now I'm in a trailer park with 2.5 acres, after 3 moves in a year. We're buying one acre with the money 30 miles out, and guess what? Just as soon as we get set, they approve 40,000 more homes right there. Tiny Buckeye has annexed over 600 sq miles of planning area. Phoenix, 6th largest metro area in the US, has like 435. The proving grounds will go to CA and Nevada. Arizona is gone. Now there is some sort of Knot's Berry Farm or something here. I know where there's a California City in Missouri, just north of the Arkansas line. mike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
