Subject: Re: Ambassador Fender troughs

Thanks Frank, Makes sense to me. I've got some 3/4" by 1 1/2" rectangular tubing that I'm thinking of using. Though it is most likely too heavier than needed. I'll have to see what I can come up with easily. I'm sure what I intend will be an improvement over the original and leave no place for crud to lay against the fender.
Also decided to do this right. I've got it stripped to bare bones. Only thing left is the wiring harness to pull from the interior. Cowl is going to get opened up and repaired then welded back together I'm thinking of doing this from the inside as it is rusted through in a couple of spots anyway. It's also going to get aftermarket heat and defrost.
Even decided on not doing the low gloss black! I'm going for one of the new copper colors. My son wants the color they use on the new Eclipse, We'll see which one it gets when we get closer to that phase.

When I cut my wrecked car up, I measured several key components with a gauge
tool. Even the frame rails were 18 gauge -- the whole darned car was made up of
18 gauge, even the skins.
