Anyone else using a Weber two barrel on their 258? I have one of the K551
kits installed on my 83 Spirit. I was curious how you connected the vacuum
advance. I currently have it connected directly to the ported vacuum on the
passenger side of the carb. I'm getting a rough idle after the engine has
warmed up, and I'm wondering is this is the problem. Is there a better way
to hook it up?

I have one, a 32/36 DGEV. Very happy with it, except -- the vacuum port for the vacuum advance! It seems to have vacuum on it at idle.

The idle bleed hole looks to be in the right position to be above
the throttle plate, but the throttle is open too much at idle so I
have too much advance at cranking, and it cranks hard but runs
great once started. (It starts easily, just sounds sluggish during
cranking.)

I think I simply need to tweak the idle jets. I had one far too
rich originally, I moved down one size (notes somewhere) and the
idle mixture screw is out 1.5T or so. It might work better one
more idle jet leaner, the throttle plate can close more, then the
idle port will be above the butterfly.

Luckily for me I've got a performance store a few miles from me
that stocks jets or gets them next-day. It took a bit of fiddling
to get the main jets right, but it's easy enough, and really worth
the bother -- I've got tons of torque all through the RPM range
and 21 - 22 mpg highway/combined.

Best carburetor I've ever owned. Bought it used on ePay. Far, far
easier to adjust and stay adjusted than even the Edelbrock 4bbls.

It even ran great at 6000 - 7000 foot altitude, after being
adjusted for Los Angeles (sea level). Never had a carb do that
well.

I suppose I could notch the throttle plate but I really don't like the idea.
