Re: Carb info needed.

There's already a response about the fuel pressure being too high from an electric pump but why did you need it in the first place? The stock mechanical pump should work just fine. If it doesn't, you need to look for the problem.

It's likely that the pump is just worn out and needs rebuilt or replaced. I had the pump in my 67 American rebuilt by Antique Auto Cellar (http://www.then-now.com) this summer and they did a great job and turned it around quickly. They charge $85 to rebuild a dual action pump (the type used with vacuum wipers) and $65 for single action. Return shipping is $7.50 (this is roughly what it cost me to send my pump in via FedEx ground). They also sell rebuild kits if you want to do it yourself but they do very nice work and in my opinion, it's worth the $40 they charge for the labor.

Other things to look for are cracked and/or rusted out fuel lines and hoses (you may want to replace the hoses if you haven't done so before, Inline Tube sells factory looking hose with the correct clamps). Either of these problems can cause fuel starvation.

pump on it to "assist" the old one. Could that cause the issue?
