Re: Eagles Parts needed! Rally Racing SX4 SOOOOON

" From: Jesse <j2sax@xxxxxxxxx>

" OK, So I plan to drive in a Rally this Summer cobbling
" together some of the SX4's I have laying around. I am
" about tapped out on extra parts money, however, if
" someone not too far from the Ozarks has some Eagle
" junk they want to dump cheap or donate to the cause,
" please eme! I live near SPfld, MO and am going to be
" hitting the project hard after Jan.
"
" The plan is:
" Full time setup
" Non vaccuum front axle
" 3.54 diffs

posis? i'd suggest detroit tru-traks f&r.

" 258/4.0 head

why not a whole 4.0? rules? you should be able to get a good
wrangler junkyard mill, harness, and ecm for not too much.
then check the strokers group at yahoogroups and look for links to
dino savva's website on angelfire for ways to make more power.

" HEI dist
" M-crft 2100

this needs an adapter doesn't it? check the holley 2300 that replaced
the bbd on early-'80s mopar 318s; it not only has the same bolt
pattern but also airhorn.

" 4 spd

not 5? if you're gonna be beating on it, a hybrid mustang 5.0 box
with eagle mainshaft and extension and bearing retainer would drop in.
add the 5speeds.com cluster stabilizer and warner [now tremec] 0.80
5th while it's apart...

" single spd tc
" subframe cnctrs
" roll cage
" maybe lowering susp/ radiusing inner fenders

i don't know if the eagle leaf spring chassis mounts are moved from
the hornet/concord, but if they're not you can lower the rear by
converting back to sua. hd hornet springs and a jeep comanche axle.
the comanche dana35 has the same diff but stronger axles and wheel
bearings too, and then some had mopar 8.25", dana44s, and even a few
amc20s...

dunno the rate or load of the front coils, but hornet v8 springs ought
to be about right for lowering the front.

15x7 cherokee et al steel wheels at least. wranglers and zj grands
have had 15x8, 16x7, and 16x8 alloys that also fit. the 16x8 come on
wrangler rubicons; serious offroaders yank them for 15" steels so you
might find them cheap. you'd want about a 245/60 tire for them.
