Jock, is Brain Johnson not a NAMDRA member? Just curious if he might be the person people were talking about. He's published a mild rebuild book for AMC and reported that he intended to do a more performance oriented book when time allowed. His book on rebuilding AMC V-8s is currently available and should be required reading for anyone wanting to build one! http://www.hobbyobsession.com/bjsbook.html original message------------------------------------------ To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Fri, 23 Dec 2005 23:04:19 -0600 Subject: Re: Books that spread bad info and can not be corrected..... From: Jock J Jocewicz <namdra@xxxxxxxx> Kim, Speaking of Performance American Style, some years back (probably 6-8 years ago) I tried to get some of the more performance type NAMDRA members to get together and really do an up-to-date Performance American Style book/booklet/etc. and got some positive encouragement on this but all of a sudden it was NAMDRA's effort on this was stopped because it was reported to us that a highly respected performance AMC'er/racer (also a NAMDRA member) was is the process of publishing such a book/booklet/manual so I dropped the effort. Guess what, now so much later no such book/booklet/manual has been published. That is one of the problems with the AMC hobby and that problem is that so many don't want to work together (even the various AMC clubs/websites/forums/lists/etc. Some want to keep valuable info to their selves for whatever selfish reasons, financial gain, etc. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Independent Magazine" (AIM) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!)
