" From: Kingkoopa1431@xxxxxxx " " " where can i buy engine mounts so i can put a bigger engine in my 67 amc " rambler with the inline six 199! you don't need any new mounts to drop a 258 or jeep 4.0 in. check out the strokers group at yahoogroups.com on how to build the 4.0 for serious power. member dino savva has a website with several formulas... want 300 hp on pump gas without bottle or blower? you'd be well advised to beef the whole drivetrain for that. an amc20 v8 rear end would be logical, but rather rare for the american. almost the only other one narrow enough is a '74-6 dart 8.25", and it has 5x4.5" lugs but they're still backward-threaded on one side. it backed 318s in the dart. at least one other strokers member has an american with a 4.0 in it. " and do u have any clutch kits for the 199 3 speed clutches should be available from all the usual suspects. amcs from the early '60s at least to as late as '75 or so were still using the same clutch. if you're beating on it, perfection hytest parts for the early '70s hd 10" clutch will also fit, though initial freeplay adjustment is tight. everyone else subs a 10.5" pp which -will-not-fit- the earlier bell. and a mopar slant-six hd 10" pressure plate should work with the early '70s hd disk, and bolts to the 9 1/8" flywheel pattern instead of the usual 10.5" one. another drop-in upgrade you might like is a '68-'72 amc t14 3sp with a '68-'70 rambler or javelin 232 driveshaft. it's full synchro and you'll really like it in stop-and-go. it uses the same clutch and bellhousing as the t96 you have now, and the same output yoke but it's ~2" shorter. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought
