Check the TSM procedure for adjusting the cable Jay. The M-35 uses a throttle valve to move the modulator. The modulator is in the valve body, so it won't be really expensive to repair, depends on what's wrong. I'd have to look at a TSM myself to see how it's made. IIRC it's a slide valve that may have some seals on it. A seal could be worn (that would be nice!), or the cavity the slide is in could be worn. Hopefully it's just a matter of adjusting the cable. The "kick down" cable -- it serves that function also -- MUST move freely. It sounds like your cable is sticking and not releasing when you come to a stop. As you press the throttle the cable goes in and increases pressure inside the trans. There is a bell crank inside the trans with a spring on it also. The spring could be broke or worked off somehow. Again, dropping the pan will reveal that part. Take a look at a TSM with the M-35 in it.
