I had heard of it before but never seen pictures. My brother had a 74 vega at one time and something went wrong with the motor, can't remember what. He started tearingit down and discovered there was a baffle sandwiched between the block and the oil pan. He satrted asking around about what it was for and was told by many people that Vegas were shipped on their noses and the baffle was to keep the oil in the pan. I had actually been skeptical of that explaination until I saw this picture a few days ago.
