I'm not rehashing previous items in the thread, just adding/clarifying (a couple have already been mentioned, but...) 1. 1951-1963 were the only years for two door Nash/Rambler/AMC station wagons (since WWII anyway, not sure about earlier Nash). This was ONLY in the small car body (Nash Rambler/American). Note that all these years used basically the same body with some minor changes over the years. Biggest change was in 1961 when all exterior sheetmetal and the firewall was changed. The "humps" in the innner wheel panels (in the engine bay wheel panels) haven't been required since 1953 or 54. The requirement was eliminated with an upper shock mount redesign, but he panels were never re-stamped. 2. 64-65 Americans are virtually identical except for some changes in radiator mounting to allow a short water pump 232 to be used as an option in 65 models. Even so, AC couldn't be ordered with the 232 -- not enough room for radiator, 232, and AC condenser. 66-69 redesign lengthened the front end roughly 2" in front of the axle to give room for 199/232 and AC condensor. 3. Big wagons were made through 1978. Sportabout (Hornet wagon) came out in 1972 (or was it 71?) and was made through 88 as the Sportabout/Concord wagon/Eagle wagon. One heck of a long run, and body parts pretty much interchange over all years. Some modification is required to put an Eagle front clip on say a 74 Sportabout, but it can be done without major body work, as long as the entire clip is used. Body lines pretty much remained the same the entire run. Changes were made with add-ons, like the Eagle lower body cladding. 4. Seems like there was something else I wanted to add, but can't recall!! Can always post later if it comes to me... ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
