In a box with a lot of random parts from the auction is a clutch
driven-disk center, with the hub sheared out, where the splines meet
the flat disk that carries the radial springs. There's a good one in
the box too, so I assumed it was saved for amusement purposes. There
wasn't much "trash" in the boxes, pretty much everything else saved
was a usable car part.
The Hallibrand rear used in the Indy car was a multi-disk clutch, so
I don't know what this busted piece is really from.
