I remember driving the 80's Xj's new and wondering why people bought the V-6s at all! You really couldn't tell the difference by seat of the pants feel. I told several people to save their money and buy the four. When they questioned me I'd say drive one of each and see if you can really tell the differance! -- Mark Price markprice242ATadelphia.net Morgantown, WV ---- farna@xxxxxxx wrote: > Someting like you suggested is what I meant -- they just published the torque number at an rpm more comparable to faster turning V-6 engines than a low rpm peak number. > > Right -- the Jeep four should be tuned to pull steeper gearing than a car engine would. The best gearing for a Jeep engine in a car should therefore be somewhere between the two because of the weight and load carrying differences. > > On September 29, 2005 andrew hay wrote: > > > i don't think they can actually -fake- numbers - but they sure can > > -shade- them. > > >
