Texture aside (if there is any difference), I would think the ABS one would
be a little more forgiving of rough treatment when installing. Durability
wise, they're probably about the same once installed. The fiberglass one
probably deadens sounds a little bitter but it's likely not enough to
notice and you can always put DynaMat (or something like it) on the
underside of the roof to kill noise. If you're coming to the Ed
Anderson show in Dayton on Saturday, you may want to pick Jeff Kennedy's
or Doug Noel's brains about this.
You can paint interior parts with normal paint as long as a flex agent is
added. There are also special interior dyes that are sold for this purpose.
SEM makes really good products for interior parts (Smyth carries them
locally). You do need to clean the parts very well before hand (each
manufacturer makes their own surface prep and cleaner product) and make
sure not to handle the parts with your bare hands after they've been cleaned.

I'm looking for a new head liner for my 68 AMX. First correct me if I am
wrong but I need a ribbed one? What is the real difference between
fiberclass and ABS? Is there a special way to paint interior parts?
