My 'Open' Fax to Pres. G.W. Bush & V.P. Cheney

The current Hybrids deliver less fuel mileage at 
Highway speeds than do regular producion vehicles.

The current Hybrids are EDSELS, and can be seen on eBay Auctions - 
NEW - as they are too expensive, don't deliver and are not selling in
quantity, as the average driver can't afford them.

Diesel - Turbo Diesel and Diesel / Electric Hybrids are the choice of
Automotive Engineering efforts and have been for years.

Why the disconnect:


Detroit must be given the Green Light to go total Diesel production 
as fast as possible, and Big Oil needs to put that extra pump at 
their Stations - pronto, with the understanding that America is 
shutting down Gasoline Fuel - and it pays to go Diesel.

GM and Ford will come out of Junk Bond Status, with increased hiring 
and
employment,  Greenhouse Gasses will drop, families can then purchase 
food
/ clothing / medicines / etc. rather than spending $60.00 to $80.00 
weekly
on Gasoline.

Plans must be set into motion that will provide Incentives for 
American Automobile Manufacturers to ramp up Diesel Production on 
Passenger Vehicles beginning in the next Fiscal Year.


Along with this will be Incentives for American Motorists to buy 
Diesel Powered Passenger Vehicles and trade in their Gasoline Powered
Vehicles - right now.


GM and Ford have everyting from 3 cylinder to 4 and 6 cylinder 
applications for Passenger Cars available in ' D ' - ' TD ' - ' D 
Hybrid ' configurations - .


Motorists will be able to avail themselves of Diesel Vehicles, models
currently on roads in  Europe and Asia with 45 to 79mpg Economy 
Ratings,
producing much less Greenhouse Gas Pollutants and costing their 
owners
much less per week per mile.


Refineries can then be freed from producing multi-blend Gasolines, 
and concentrate on Diesel / Home Heating Oil
and Manufacturing Distillates.

Farmers ?  Bio-Diesel.


All Business channels are speaking of Inflation > directly linked to
Americas Fuel shortages concerns.


With Fed Funds and Oil Drag, we are fast approaching an inverted 
yeild curve > seen in all examples prior to Recessions.


Wall St. analysts state openly there is another 15 on top of the 
current $67.00 per bbl. to be 'had'.

More than a few have stated they fully expect the market to see 
$100.00 per bbl.  and not to expect any pricing relief in the next 
five years.

Russia is Taxing Oil Production $00.90  on the Dollar for any oil 
sold over $34.00 per bbl. , so don't expect added production to be 
available;  exploration is moving to Gasses.

What went wrong in Washington:

GM and Ford have invested in what they saw as the Best 
path to follow:  Diesel and Diesel Hybrid Technology.

This Technology spans the Technology Gap until Hydrogen Fuel Cells 
and Electric Vehicles are a reality - which isn't within the next 
Decade.

Their efforts have seen Energy Policy  reduce their Stock to Junk 
Bond Status by ignoring their developments and touting  a 'Hydrogen 
Fuel' myth.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles are not yet smoke on the Horizon, let 
alone the 'Wonder Weapon' that will save our Economy - right now.

Big Oil won't have it and will not provide it, so don't expect it.

Example:

Plug Power produced a Natrual Gas Fuel Cell that GE was
contracting to market > a good friend and Engineer who worked on the
transfer membrane spoke on the topic while kicking tires over our AMC
project cars.

Shortly after successful testing results went Public, 'Someone' 
jumped the price of Natural Gas, making the NG Fuel Cell unprofitable 
>
hence the turn to Hydrogen, since Big Oil doesn't control it > in 
concept
> no inexpensive supply without infrastructure ?

GE pulled out of negotiations.

With Hydrogen, Big Oil can conceptually  be displaced by Home Fueling
Stations Manufacturers  - so there is not a chance of Hydrogen being
anything more than a threat to Big Oil Interests and a non-starter to
Transport Manufacturers.


We need all new Motorists who plan to purchase or choose to purchase 
in
the next 3 years to go Diesel.

I understand that there is a 'Phase in" plan for low Sulphur Diesel 
Fuel.

Situations have changed drastically.

States Leadership needs to understand that we do not have the Luxury 
of
low Sulphur Diesel Fuel 'Phase in' any longer.

Put Diesel in place now as Priority 1 and get the Sulphur content 
down as fast as Refineries will comply or supplies can be found 
elsewhere.

Get GM and Ford back on their feet and Employment up with Pollution 
down.

Go Public - Address the Nation with a move away from Gasoline, a 
gradient reduction over the next 5 years linked
to Incentives.


Your Administration has tackled some of the worst situations 
imaginable, no reason to stop now ;)
