What should I look for under the vehicle for rust?
How soon does the 4-wheel drive system go bad/need
major maintenance? when do the ball joints / tie rod
ends need replacing? What should I check when I go to
look at it? Any and all hints/helpful suggestions
appreciated for this era Jeep CHerokee. Thanks,

Rust ? Behind the rear spring shackles - in front of
rear spring shackles - rear quarters - door skins lower
lips - bottoms of doors - floor seams underneath.
Check front springs for cracks or splits - usually drivers
side for some reason.
Check crankcase breather system for upgrades as there
were a few around 1990.
