Hello everyone. Just joined the list as I have recently purchased
a 1966 Rambler American 440 Sedan 2 door. It is is white with red
interior with the 199 6 cylinder and automatic. Odometer shows
99000 miles. The car is in great shape and looks like it is an
older semi-restoration. I hope posting links is ok here.
Here are some front and rear shots of the car:

Nothing really missing from the car (that I know of) except the front
hood emblem. I'm pretty sure the seats and dash have been
recovered as I doubt AMC used "velvet" inserts on the bench
seats. I stuck a battery in the car and drove it an hour and a
half home to Reading, Pa where I live. Aside from the usual
clunks, rattles and such it seems ok. There's a transmission
fluid leak and the car sits lower in the back right and higher in the
front left (why I don't know, haven't had time to investigate) and the
alternator light is lit on the dash. Probably leave it as is for
the time being as it is such good shape but will probably update the
wheels/tires. Anybody have an idea how big a wheel tire combo
will fit and what the backspacing is?
Anyway...I look forward to participating and learning about my Rambler.
Thanks everyone,
Rob Curtis
