Early sixes had big ports, but had a tight 90* turn and don't flow as much as 4.0L heads on the intake side. Exhaust ports are pretty big too. At best you'd need to match ports and ramp the manifolds to prevent turbulence in the exhaust port to manifold intersection. Clifford makes a split header for the early sixes, and the 91-98 4.0L tubular exhaust is easy to split -- its a three into one design that comes togehter right at the headpipe flange. Cut it about 3" back from the flange and make two new flanges. You would definitely need to port the manifolds as the ports are smaller. > I don't know how much it would hurt flow nor how much workit would take. The only old head I have is a 69 232 that still has manifoldso it. When I get to cleaning up and redoing some stuff at home I intend to test fit the manifolds with a 81 intake just to see what fit looks like. > Mark Price > mprice@xxxxxxxxxx > Morgantown, WV > 69 AMC rambler, 4.0L, EFI, 5 speed > 65 Ambassador Conv, 327 AUTO, Basketcase > 01 S-10 CREWCRAP 4X4 ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
